1. Hi all,
" My wife and I made a last minute decision to visit Hanoi and contacted South Pacific Travel, Vietnam . We chose to do a 6-day trip including Halong Bay , Sapa and Hanoi . As we didnt have any visas, Huong Tra Le of South Pacific arranged them for collection by us at Hanoi airport. This should be done earlier but as it was a last-minute rush I decided to let South Pacific do it for us for a small fee. I think it was US$25.

I have no hesitation in recommending South Pacific Travel to anyone. Their staff and there were so many of them were very friendly and helpful. They were utterly reliable. We enjoyed our Halong Bay trip on the new Phoenix junk, and made new friends from different parts of the world on board. The kayaking and cave outings were fun.

The Sapa hillstribes visit was also enjoyable. But if you travel on the overnight train make sure the air conditioner is not too cold. We nearly froze to death and only discovered we could control it too late. So if it is too cold let the guard know! It was our first trip to Hanoi which is not as developed as Ho Chi Minh. And yes we hired a tour guide for a one-day tour of the city and visited the pottery village. Nice and easy is the way to go and try to make some Vietnamese friends. We were invited to re-assure potential clients so I have given South Pacific permission for anyone who wants to contact us to do so.

Best regards,
Steve Oh, Perth , Australia .

3. Hello Tra,
3 of them arrived safely last friday and they are now back to our hometown which is about 4 hours drive from the airport. The 3 old folks were very happy and satisfied with the ground arrangement. The food, the sight seeing, the guides in Halong & Hanoi, the driver (they were very punctual), the vehicle (clean & new) & Kim Tuc Hotel, they said everything was excellent and very well planned and service was very good. From the moment they were out from the airport till today, they had been complementing that the tour was above excellent and worth the money spent. They were quite surprised on the last night, your colleague (was it Xuan? Coz i asked my aunt and she said your colleague didn't want to reveal her name) was at the restaurant to greet them personally. The 3 old folks were very impressed with South Pacific and they highly recommend South Pacific to the friends & relatives. There're just few things they want to comment:
1) no morning calls from both the hotels even though they requested. Luckily they managed to wake up & didn't miss the flight home.
2) They were quite disappointed with Golden Halong Hotel. The air-con was not working and the staffs were not able to communicate in simple english.
3) If possible, meal on cruise can be improved.
4) Dinner on the last night was not too good coz they had stomach upset that night. But it was not South Pacific's fault as it was the 3 old folks who requested for the change of restaurant. (you can check with Mr Khoa Yang which restaurant they went) Anyway just want to make a comparison that the food quality South Pacific provided was of very high quality & standard.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you & your colleagues for taking very good care of my father, my aunt & uncle. They really had a memorable trip in Hanoi . Should we plan to make future trips to Vietnam , South Pacific will always be our top priority.

Thank you again and we'll keep in touch. Best wishes to you & Xuan.
Regards,

5 . Hi Hung,
Thought I would touch base with you now we have been home for as couple of days and had time to catch our breath. Stephen and Jenna get home in a couple of hours so it will be good to hear of their adventures since we left them a few days ago. We have both really struggled with the cold weather since we got home but thankfully it hasn't been raining, but that is due to start tomorrow for the whole week!!
We did enjoy your beautiful country and found it very interesting. Looking back at our photos yesterday made us realize just how much we saw, did and learnt. All our guides were fantastic and able to give us so much information. Our trip to Ha Long Bay is something we will remember for such a long time although we did find the bus trip to and from a bit squeezy. The history and culture from the different places was also amazing. Our accommodation was great, our favourite being The Pilgrimage, we would thoroughly recommend it to anyone. We enjoyed the wide variety of foods offered to us and both Jenna and I eventually mastered chopsticks!!

Thank you so much for all the time and effort you put in to coordinating and organizing our itinerary. We had no problems whatsoever which further enhanced our whole “Viet Nam Experience”.
Kind regards

7. Vietnam travel - best services and saved pocket
We were really starting to get excited about our trip to Vietnam . As complete novices at international travel (we have never been outside Australia ) South Pacific Travel's assistance and patience was invaluable to us. Its friendly facebook invitation was also a terrific surprise . We assumed that the "frank understanding and support" that they asked for refers to our travel plans at this stage.

Firstly, we would like you to know that we chose Vietnam to visit (out of all the counties in the world) because of the great respect we have for its people. Everyone we have talked to who has been to Vietnam comments on how friendly Vietnamese people are. We have also read a lot about Vietnamese history and culture and very much admire the resilience and dignity that its people have shown. In short, Vietnam sounds fascinating to us. Living in a very Western country makes us wonder sometimes if the world has lost its soul. So that is why we have chosen to visit this country.

We looked extensively on the internet at different options and South Pacific Travel's tours particularly appealed to us. However, we did not have a high income and had managed to book a 34 day tour (15 days travelling in the North West then 19 days slowly travelling from Hanoi to the south) under US$3000 (ie.US$1500 (each). This package included 2 star type accommodations, all transport, most entrance fees, some meals and our flights back to Hanoi from Ho Chi Minh City . To secure this deal we needed to pay a upfront deposit - so that the agent could start organising our bookings etc.

With regards to our initial days in Hanoi - we had read a lot about the "must see" historical and cultural icons there and are looking forward to exploring them. We were not sure whether non-Vietnamese speaking tourists can find their own way around the museum sites or whether they should go on guided tours and our South Pacific Travek assisted us Faye and I really appreciate the assistance South Pacific Travel gave us and trusted that we had not inconvenienced it too much.

8. Dear Alan,
I would like in the name of all participants to this campus, to thank you very sincerely for the quality of the programme, tour, visits, guides, hotels, meals .... that you have organized for us. We intend proposing another such campus next year at the same period and we will be happy to discuss with you the next programme.

You can be assured that I will reference South Pacific without any hesitation to anybody wanting to visit your country. I personnaly hope to find the time to come back for touristic purposes with my wife and I will necessarily contact you in when this materializes.

Please extend our satisfaction to all members of your team and service suppliers. Please do not hesitate giving my name as a reference for anybody in Canada who would like to have more information on your group.
Please accept my warmest regards

9. Dear Alan,
As promised here comes a short e-mail containing my impressions on the tour!

first of all, thanks again for the organisation of the meeting point and the pick-up service, that was wonderful and it all worked out well - the lotteria restaurant is a good point, easy to find! in case you have other people doing the same like us (arriving from Sapa, which shouldnt be too unusual and you dont want to go back to a Hotel) do it again just the way you did, that was great!

We enjoyed the tour very much although the second day was much better than the first one - it is a bit of a pity that you have to sta (anchor) in the same spot both nights. Our tour guide ( I think Dao) was very nice but maybe sometimes a bit shy - sometimes we felt (and two others said the same) that he was giving us information abi\out when we leave and what to bring along a bit late so that he just knocked at the door and said Time to go! when he could have told us earlier!

The food was great - especially on the smaller boat (barbecue) where we stayed for the day trip the second day! Keep that up!
Edges and spots where less tourists are, should be more frequented!
So far so good,
Thanks again for the organisation
Bye then
Greetings Maren
